Hitting a Homerun with Italians

Several months ago, from his high apartment building, Phil P., member of Avant Ministries Team Italy One, saw what appeared to be a youth baseball team practicing in a nearby stadium. Passionate for baseball, Phil his son Caleb had to check out the scene.
They found the Genova Gryphons practicing on a dirty, worn out, synthetic soccer field and were told the team competes as part of an official Italian league.
Phil approached the coaches and asked if his son could play. He was surprised by their excitement. An American living in Genova who wants to play baseball! Caleb was immediately given a position on the team, and soon Jordan, son of Tim K., Team Italy One leader, was recruited to play as well. Phil took on assistant coaching responsibilities.
Over the next few months, the team practiced and competed every week. Phil, as well as Tim enjoyed relating with coaches and other fathers. Because of their experience in American baseball, the Paces and Kroekers were afforded a high degree of credibility and respect...
