The Garden of Life

By: Sheila Busenitz

August 11, 2008

I recently spent an afternoon at the sea with a woman from Genova.  We agreed that it’s best when your personal spiritual beliefs change your every day life.  Otherwise, that religion or system of beliefs is simply added to the list of what you do instead of becoming a part of what you already have.

The spiritual intertwining with the practical.  You would’ve found another illustration of this a couple of times recently if you’d glanced into Jacob’s Well during the lunch hour.  You would’ve seen a group of women enjoying a light lunch together.  If you’d listened carefully you would have heard snippets of conversation about the practical uses of herbs.  You might have even jotted down a couple of practical tips for growing houseplants.

T
he women of Team Italy One are
seeking to share the hope and love of Christ with numerous women we’ve met here in Genoa.  The Garden of Life luncheons have allowed us to spend just a few hours living life and sharing Christ with some of these women.

This Fall we will begin a new series of events for women.  Pray that relationships will grow and that these women will see how our lives are different.  God is not just another thing on our lists of things to do.  He is seeking to affect everything on our lists.
